ROUTES FROM CHIAPPERA
MONTE BELLINO 2.937 m
Easy tour in a stunning setting, but with a long approach. Requires safe snow on the slope/gully leading to Colle di Bellino, and from there to the summit.
In late season, departure from Grange Ciarviera.
Grade: MS, D+ 1,330 m (1,080 m from Grange Ciarviera), aspect: southwest.
TÊTE DU VALLONET 2.818 m
Easy and relaxing route, climbing through the meadows of Vallone del Maurin into the wild glacial cirque between Aiguille de Chambeyron and Monte Maniglia. The final part from Colle Maurin to the summit (to the left) is steeper and requires stable snow.
Grade: BS (MS up to Colle Maurin), D+ 1,210 m (910 m from Grange Ciarviera), aspect: southeast.
MONTE EIGHIER 2.576 m
A spectacular tour through the cliffs of the Castello–Provenzale group. Requires good snow coverage and stable spring snow (crosses avalanche-prone slopes).
Grade: BS, D+ 940 m, aspect: south.
MONTE ALBRAGE 2.999 m
Tour over sustained and continuous slopes, requiring absolutely safe snow. From Grange Turre, the ascent valley is visible on the right and conditions can be visually assessed. Crampons sometimes useful.
Grade: BS, D+ 1,350 m (1,100 m from Grange Ciarviera), aspect: southwest.
MONTE CERVET 2.891 m
Not a technically difficult route but requires stable snow, especially near Colle Greguri and along the gully leading to Passo di Cervèt. The ridge to the summit from the pass is often accessible only on foot.
Grade: BS, D+ 1,355 m, aspects: various (northwest, south).
TÊTE DE CIALANCION 3.014 m
The first part of the route is easy and relaxing, followed by a rather steep slope leading to the exceptional panoramic summit.
Grade: BS, D+ 1,350 m (1,100 m from Grange Ciarviera), aspect: east.
MONTE CIASLARAS 3.005 m
A spring classic in Vallone dell’Infernetto, which retains snow cover for a long time. Alternates between steep and gentler sections, with a rather demanding final slope.
Grade: BS, D+ 1,390 m (1,240 m from Grange Ciarviera), aspects: various (south, west).
TÊTE DE LA FREMA 3.142 m
A long and demanding route, especially on the ascent through the Infernetto couloir (35°), leading to an extraordinary panorama over the Brec and the Aiguille de Chambeyron.
Grade: BS/OS, D+ 1,800 m (1,650 m from Grange Ciarviera), aspects: various (south, west, north).
MONTE MANIGLIA 3.177 m
Significant distance and difficulty concentrated in the slope/gully to be climbed to reach the Ciabrera valley – the third gully on the left when ascending Vallone dell’Autaret. Extraordinary views over the Valle Varaita and the Chambeyron group.
Grade: BS, D+ 1,560 m (1,310 m from Grange Ciarviera), aspect: south.
MONTE FREIDE 2.967 m
Couloir of about 600 m at a steady 35°, with a potentially delicate exit due to hard snow or cornices.
Grade: OS, D+ 1,320 m (1,070 m from Grange Ciarviera), aspect: south.
MONTE PERTUSÁ 2.736 m
By following the right branch of the Vallone dell’Infernetto, you can reach elevation 2,852 m at the end of the valley and the summit of Monte Pertusá. A short but steep tour that requires absolutely safe snow.
Elevation 2,852 m: Grade: BS, D+ 1,220 m (970 m from Grange Ciarviera), aspect: south.
Pertusá summit: Grade: OS, D+ 1,085 m (835 m from Grange Ciarviera), aspect: south.
ROUTES FROM SARETTO
CIMA DELLE MANSE 2.727 m
A very varied itinerary, with a fairly demanding final slope: 200 meters at 35 degrees. The exposure guarantees snow until late in the season.
Grade: BS, D+ 1,210 m, aspect: northeast.
MONTE SOUBEYRAN 2.701 m
A complex but easy tour, with some steep slopes before reaching Passo della Cavalla. It is possible to complete a loop by descending the steep gully of Passo della Fea toward Lago Visaisa.
Grade: MS (BS for the variant), D+ 1,170 m, aspects: various (north, east; south for the variant).
MONTE SAUTRON 3.166 m
A grande course between Maira and Ubaye, crossing Colle del Sautron and Colle della Portiola before ascending the wide final slope to the summit. Possible descent through the Forcellina couloir (technical, 35°/40°).
Grade: BS (OS via Forcellina couloir), D+ 2,050 m, aspects: various.
COLLE D'ENCHIAUSA 2.740 m
A great variety of landscapes, with only one truly demanding section on the steep slope just before the col, facing the wild north face of Monte Oronaye.
Grade: BS, D+ 1,380 m, aspect: northwest.
MONTE VIRAYSSE 2.844 m
The splendid slope of Viraysse detaches to the left of Colle Sautron. Requires good snow coverage and safe conditions, especially on the approach to the pass.
Grade: BS, D+ 1,310 m, aspect: east.
ROUTES FROM PONTE MAIRA
MONTE MIDIA 2.310 m
A classic winter route through the larch forest, usually safe and accessible even after recent snowfall. Possibility of descending to Chialvetta, equally easy and recommended with spring snow.
Grade: MS, D+ 900 m, aspect: north.
ROUTES FROM LAUSETTO
MONTE RUISSAS 2.736 m
An easy route over wide southwest-facing meadows; more attention is needed in the section between Monte Cappel and the summit, which is steeper.
Grade: MS, D+ 1,225 m, aspect: southwest.
MONTE CIARMETTA 2.520 m
Safe and easy itinerary over wide sunny meadows. The East Saddle of Ciarmetta is reached; the actual summit is not skiable.
Grade: MS, D+ 1,010 m, aspect: south.
CIMA SEBOLET 3.023 m
A spring classic over open, sunny slopes leading to the summit on the watershed with the Bellino valley.
Grade: MS, D+ 1,510 m, aspect: south.
MONTE FREIDE 2.951 m
The rarely visited Val Fissela hides a beautiful setting and a rewarding tour with good distance but not technically difficult — recommended in spring.

ROCCA MARCHISA 3.074 m
A tour with varied exposures, considerable elevation gain, and a long approach! For enthusiasts — but very rewarding.

ROUTES FROM CHIALVETTA
MONTE ESTELLETTA 2.318 m
An easy and sunny route, climbing the Vallone dell’Unerzio among charming hamlets, then turning into the wide pastures of Ciarbonet, passing several isolated alpine huts.
Grade: MS, D+ 820 m, aspect: southeast.
BRIC CASSIN 2.637 m
A classic ski mountaineering goal in Valle Maira, ideal for beginners or those looking to spend a relaxed day, enjoying from the summit the beautiful view of the Gardetta Plateau in its winter version.
Grade: MS, D+ 1,130 m, aspect: northwest.
SOLEGLIO BUE/PIUTAS 2.413m
A fairly easy north-facing route, often offering powder snow. Mostly through larch forest; care is needed on the steep gullies along the sides of Monte Piutas, to be tackled only with stable snow.
Grade: BS, D+ 940 m, aspect: northwest.
BRIC BOSCASSO 2.589 m
Another Valle Maira classic. A very popular itinerary thanks to its great descent, often on powder. After crossing the Pratorotondo bridge, the route enters a beautiful larch forest on the left, then emerges into wide pastures near the summit.
Grade: MS, D+ 1,100 m, aspect: northwest.
AUTO VALLONASSO 2.855 m
South-facing with spectacular views, enclosed between high rocky walls. Reaching the true summit requires a short snowy or rocky ridge, depending on conditions (ice axe and crampons recommended).
Grade: BSA, D+ 1,400 m, aspect: southeast.
MONTE SCALETTA - NE COULOIR 2.840 m
A very demanding route with slopes at 35°–40°. The couloir is fairly wide, with a narrow exit just a few meters wide. It is not fully visible from below as it bends slightly left halfway before continuing straight to the top.
Grade: OS, D+ 1,350 m, aspect: northeast.
MONTE OSEROT - WEST SUBSUMMIT 2.861 m
The main difficulties are concentrated on the steep slope to Comba Emanuel and the slope/couloir accessing the saddle. The summit can be reached on foot via the ridge. The direct north couloir is more difficult (4.1 E1).

COLLE D'ENCHIAUSA 2.740 m
A springtime classic with an extraordinary setting: open terrain at first, then enclosed between rocky towers under the dramatic faces of Monte Oronaye.
Grade: BS, D+ 1,275 m, aspect: east.
