Miles and miles of trails, single-tracks, military roads, climbs and technical descents: mountain biking in Valle Maira and discovering its territory is a fascinating experience, which will satisfy all kind of riders, from beginners to confirmed endurists.

Here we propose a selection of itineraries starting from Campo Base or requiring short deplacements. Each riders’ imagination will then modify, extend or shorten our proposals, following of the hundreds of trails which run across our Valley.

THE MONTE BELLINO

The Monte Bellino

One of the highest roads in the Alps, a summit reaching nearly 3.000 meters and an endless descent on single-track: that’s the MTB super classic of the upper Maira Valley, loved by generations of bikers. Not to be miss!

The Colle d'Enchiausa

A huge mountain bike ride: a long climb from the woods to glacial landscapes followed by a long descent across the Munie plateau or in the severe Enchiausa Valley, technically very challenging.

THE GARDETTA

The Gardetta

A fantastic plateau lying above 2.000 meters, with the vertical walls of Rocca la Meja rising from the green prairies, once the bed of a tropical sea, now a perfect terrain for mountain biking. The military road crossing the entire plateau gives access to many itineraries, for all skills and physical conditions.

MARMORA'S "NAPOLEONICA"

Marmora's "Napoleonica"

A short but intense tour, riding through Marmora’s villages, beautiful examples of traditional alpine architecture to reach the Colle dell’Encucetta and its amazing single-track which leads directly to the Maira river at the bottom of the valley.

Elva and Stroppo's "Napoleonica"

A perfect tour for mid-seasons, in the sunny side of the valley, with the long ascent on the road towards the Colle di Sampeyre and the descent on the ancient “Strada dei Cannoni”, a seventeen century’s creation by the military engineer Ignazio Bertola.

The Colle di Rui

An incredible ride with amazing landscapes on the way down to Chiappera, just in front of the Castello-Provenzale rocky walls. The climb is made by the military road of Monte Bellino and a portage section in the wild Val Fissela.
